Dr Lokesh Bisati

Dr Lokesh Bisati is a highly experienced Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist based in Chelmsford, Essex, with over 20 years of clinical experience in psychiatry, including more than 15 years at consultant level within the UK.

He is fully registered with the General Medical Council (GMC No. 6041944) with a Licence to Practise and is listed on the GMC Specialist Register for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, having been awarded his Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in December 2009. Dr Bisati is also a Section 12 Approved Doctor and an Approved Clinician under the Mental Health Act.

Dr Bisati provides private outpatient services at SphereView Medicare and the Priory Hospital Chelmsford, alongside his NHS role as a Locum Consultant Psychiatrist with NELFT NHS Foundation Trust. Since 2015, he has been offering private outpatient clinics at Priory Hospital Chelmsford, where he has been extensively involved in the assessment and treatment of a wide range of mental health conditions in children and young people, including Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

He has held several senior positions, including Lead CAMHS Consultant Psychiatrist at the adolescent inpatient unit at Priory Hospital Chelmsford, as well as substantive Consultant roles in community CAMHS services within Humber NHS Foundation Trust and Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust. He has also worked as a locum consultant in community CAMHS services in Jersey.

With extensive experience across outpatient, inpatient, and crisis care settings, Dr Bisati has conducted emergency psychiatric assessments in A&E departments, paediatric wards, and community environments. He has particular expertise in the assessment and management of mental health and behavioural problems in children and young people alongside neurodevelopmental conditions, including Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). He is highly experienced in prescribing and monitoring psychotropic and controlled medications.

Dr Bisati adopts a holistic, patient-centred approach, working collaboratively with young people, families, schools, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated and personalised care. He also facilitates appropriate referrals for psychological therapies, occupational therapy, and educational support to ensure comprehensive management of each young person's needs.

He completed his medical degree (MBBS) at Mysore University, India, before undertaking postgraduate psychiatric training in the UK, gaining Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) in 2006. His broad training across multiple psychiatric subspecialties has provided him with a comprehensive understanding of mental health across the lifespan.

Throughout his career, Dr Bisati has demonstrated strong leadership within multidisciplinary teams and has contributed significantly to service development, clinical governance, safeguarding practices, and quality improvement initiatives. He is actively involved in teaching, supervision, and mentoring of junior doctors and other healthcare professionals.
